Creating Veterans Day Products? Read These Tips First!
In the U.S., Veterans Day is a federal holiday observed on or around November 11th each year, honoring all American veterans and veteran organizations. With around 19 million veterans in the U.S., Veterans Day is a time where patriotism is commonly displayed.
If you’re planning to sublimate products in support of Veterans Day, here are some things you should know:
- The Department of Defense and individual branches of the U.S. Military hold trademarks on symbols and slogans. (Refer to this guide for more information).
- S. Military branch seals may not be used commercially, including reproducing them on coasters, signs, mugs, and t-shirts.
- Since each branch has its own guidelines and licensing requirements, it’s a good idea to do your research on each one. For example, using the official branch name, such as “U.S. Army” is not permitted on products for commercial sale.
- For U.S. trademarks, you can search the Patent and Trademark Office database for any terms, marks, and logos with active trademarks in the U.S.
Use these tips to help create lasting patriotic products in support of veterans. U.S.-made Unisub and ChromaLuxe products are perfect for respectfully honoring those who have served.
